在停售5年多之后， iPhone 6正式为列为“古董产品（vintage products） ”。今年2月，iPhone 6 Plus已被列入淘汰产品（obsolete products）清单。
至此，一代神机iPhone 6系列，宣告退休。
据了解， 苹果会将已停售五年、未满7年的产品列入“古董产品”清单，Apple Store和苹果授权服务提供商最多提供两年维修服务（要看零部件库存）。停售超过7年的产品则被视为“淘汰产品”，苹果不再提供维修服务。
2014年9月9日，苹果在美国加州库比蒂诺德安萨学院弗林特艺术中心发布iPhone 6系列，首次采用大小屏产品策略，分4.7寸、5.5寸的iPhone 6和iPhone 6 Plus。
