[ROM][Huawei][11] LeaOS - Lineage 18.1 for Huawei device (EMUI 9 version)

It have not test in emui9 but in emui8 magisk version canary works natively on LeaOS. You just have to download it from the official site of magisk, rename it to .zip and install it with twrp
Thank you for the reply!

Could you please clarify which magisk canary version number is the latest to be known working?
The latest "stable" version available is 25.2. The latest "canary" version available is "38ab6858" (25203).
Personally i think newer versions of magisk (<24.3) won't properly work due to the whole magiskInit rewrite/zygisk/etc. I could very well be wrong though!

Hello,
I got to the point where I was able to downgrade to emui/android 8, unlocked the bootloader. Can I advance here with twrp or do I need to upgrade back to emui 9 if I want to use the patch?

When you got the bootloader code you can go to emui 9.1 and do what ever you want ( we downgrade for ONLY to get the bootloader code)

I see, it worked, managed to install the rom, works fine but NFC doesn't, Google won't let me add any payment options, any suggestions?

For payments (you need to install safetynet from magicks root app.
For NFC you can flash the nfc patch, i think link its in the post as well.

Okay, so I really needed to use NFC, I gave up and reverted back to stock emui9 & re-locked the bootloader. I tried to install Magisk with no success. Apparently, I can use rooted magisk to install safetynetfix thus bypassing SN protection on LeaOS 18.1 - could you please point me to a guide how to do it on anne? I spent 40+ hours figuring this out now, everything worked, just the NFC holds me back.

When I installed Magisk, I've seen it repacking the boot.img stuff, but after I returned to the app, it showed no magisk version installed. I'd wish to try again, but only if I know the correct steps to fix NFC/Google Pay beforehand.

It also showed I do not have a ramdisk present, which means I'd have to flash either the recovery_ramdisk partition or the one with eRecovery on it. (Modifying the Magisk-patched version's booting methods at launch, and I'm not sure if this method would work in an enviroment where I want safetynet to pass at all times.)

I don't have much experience rooting this way, maybe that's a problem.
I was thinking about re-locking the bootloader & FRP lock, after I flash LeaOS again, but this would cause a low-level factory reset, and because of this I'm not sure it'll work.

Do you have any suggestions about what should I do at this point?

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

[Currently running stock 9.1.0.200 - ANE-LX1 eu version with bootloader unlock code available, after 2 days of basically torturing this device. But I can re-start and do the entire process again where I got LeaOS 18.1 installed, It was an insane ride but I'll do it again if neccessary.]

Install "normall" LOS 18.1 GSI (LiR by "eremitein") and everything will be OK, imo .

I did everything according to the descriptions, but it doesn't want to come together. The system started, but the google stuff crashed the first time, then after a factory reset it was fine. Version 3.6.1_9.0 twrp is up, but I can't make a backup with it, because I get a "permission denied" error message for both sd and otg storage. when I went through the leaos settings, I entered a pin code and a fingerprint. What could I have messed up?

Thanks for the quick response. Which of the above should I choose? I'm totally confused. Right, I installed leaos from emui 9.1, so then the "EMUI 9.1 Custom ROMs:
Should I choose 3.4.0-0-emui9_eR by @S_mak" recovery?

Can I root with magisk? Also, is the "PHENIX KERNEL" compatible with this ROM version?
