银河系到底有多大？正所谓不知庐山真面目，只缘身在此山中，想精确测量银河系的尺度是非常困难的。
天文学家其实早就知道，银河系最亮的部分，也就是包括我们太阳系在内的薄饼状恒星盘，跨度约为12万光年。
而在这个恒星盘之外，是一个更庞大的气体盘。
然后就是一个巨大的暗物质环，轻松吞噬了这两个圆盘，并延伸到它们之外。
