Popcorn Time开源项目宣布关闭 – 开源派
彭博社消息称：开源电影播放器Popcorn 宣布关闭，官网没有解释关闭原因，标题写了“R.I.P”（安息）,提供了一个图表，显示互联网用户对其的兴趣在持续下降。
Popcorn Time 成立于 2014 年。在2015年，Netflix曾经在年度财报中警示投资者Popcorn Time 的崛起，称盗版是最大的竞争对手。Popcorn Time软件支持 Windows、Mac OS X、Linux 操作系统，支持在线播放，以及搜索和分类影片功能。播放前，Popcorn Time 会提示用户所在国家版权问题，责任自负，播放过程中会自动做种，整合了 BT 下载和流媒体播放器。Popcorn本身并不包含任何侵权内容，但作为工具从另一个角度帮助了用户访问侵权的材料。Github在2020年5月关闭了Popcorn Time的代码库。Popcorn Time的关闭并不意味着彻底消失，其他人完全可以根据开源的代码创建分支。
