Linux 基金会 发布2021年度报告。报告称过去 30 年间，Linux已经遍布于全球，全球最大的100万台服务器中有96%使用Linux系统。全球最大的500台超级计算机100%使用Linux系统。90%的云基础设施采用Linux系统。85%的智能手机使用基于Linux的安卓操作系统。
目前Linux社区已经从单纯的 Linux 内核扩展为覆盖云、容器、网络、AI 等多个领域。22.7%为云 & 容器 & 虚拟化 领域相关；网络领域内容占比 15%，Web & APP 开发内容占比 13.6%。
此外Linux基金会研究部与业界合作伙伴AWS、CHAOSS、康卡斯特、富士通、GitHub、GitLab、日立、华为、英特尔、NEC、松下、瑞萨、松下、红帽和VMware进行合作，对开源社区的多样性、公平性和包容性（DEI）状况进行核查，共同拓展开源领域。
