Blinds Downunder
Shopify store for roller blinds business.
Design and development of a WordPress website for a Canadian Life Insurance broker. The scope of work included insurance wizard, API development and integration, integration with COMPULIFE, DocuSign, Infusionsoft, and G Suite.
Client
An online blinds company with variable pricing options for people to select different fabrics, loaders, fixtures, and fittings for blinds. Users can watch 3D animated videos, measure their window frames, and install the blinds themselves, thus saving a lot of money.
Brief
During the COVID time, the client had limited options to do their job. A Shopify store that reflects the customization options that clients have on-sight helped them move the business to the virtual space. The project turned out to be much more complicated than it seemed at the beginning. Advice from the Xfive’s UX designer helped simplify it and make the blinds’ customization process easy for clients.

Key achievements
- To meet users’ expectations and requirements we created a blinds configurator. With its help, a client can build their own blinds that match any size of windows.
- Shopify search engine helped save hours of customization and additional actual web development time. The client who considers himself as a novice with computers can easily navigate through the entire store.
- With a large selection of fabrics and multiple choices of blinds components, including colors, the blinds configurator offers a highly versatile offering. Clean and intuitive filters allow you to find the desired blinds quickly.
The site is user-friendly and guides customers to the cart. The client finds their product unique on the market and is happy with the results.
We walked through every step of blinds configuration before building the actual website to provide the proper Information Architecture and user flow.
The designer mapped out where things went, functionalities, colors, photo placements, dropdowns, and so on.
The development was actually the easy part because we’d built everything during the design stages.
