Time Series Analysis From Scratch in Python: Part 1

There’s no denying that time series analysis is a biggie in the world of data science, so I came up with an idea of creating a whole series of articles covering pretty much everything — from a basic date and time manipulation to LSTMs and deep learning.

I’m not saying that there aren’t a plethora of resources available already, but I prefer to have learning resources written by a single author, because the pace and tone are set at the start, and it’s much easier to follow — provided that you like the author’s way of explaining things.

Having that said, I think it’s a good idea to start small and from the basics — and that is date manipulation with Python. To be more precise, in this article you’ll learn how to deal with date in pure Python, but also in Numpy and Pandas . I’m sure you are familiar with the libraries if you’ve done any data analysis before. But if you haven’t that’s also fine, it’s not rocket science.

So without further ado, let’s dive into the good stuff.
