Developers, 'Sign in with Apple' will soon be a required feature on your apps.
All apps that use 3rd party plugins like Facebook / LinkedIn login will be required to implement it.
At yesterday's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), Apple unveiled a brand new feature dubbed "Sign in with Apple" in an effort to protect user privacy when signing in to apps.
Sign in with Apple works very similarly to plugins like Facebook / Twitter Login, but with a slight twist — The log in only sends in your name and email, and users have the option to "hide" their email (Apple sends in an obfuscated email address that can be disabled anytime).
What wasn't mentioned at the conference was that the new Sign in with Apple feature will now be a mandatory feature for all apps that use 3rd party plugins such as Facebook / Twitter Login.
In other words, developers must implement Sign in with Apple on their apps if they're using other log in plugins.
This new addition has been added to the updated App Store Review Guidelines:
Sign In with Apple will be available for beta testing this summer. It will be required as an option for users in apps that support third-party sign-in when it is commercially available later this year.
