继1月29日获得外观设计专利之后，根据WIPO（世界知识产权局）公示的清单国内手机厂商小米于2月5日再次在全球设计数据库中发布了一款专利。该专利展示了一款机身背面有两个摄像头的全面屏智能手机。最大的亮点在于正面采用了全面屏设计，而且整体机身上没有按钮，只有机身底部有USB-C端口。
