Google named a leader in the latest Forrester Research API Management Solutions Wave

Choosing the right APIs can be critical to a business’s success. Likewise, API management is a key ingredient in running a successful API initiative. Comprehensive research from global industry analyst firms like Forrester Research can help enterprises evaluate API management tools so they can find the right one to fit their strategy and plans.

Today, we’re proud to share that Google Cloud (Apigee) has been recognized by Forrester Research as an API management solution leader in The Forrester Wave™: API Management Solutions, Q4 2018.

In this report, Forrester assessed 15 API management solutions against 26 criteria such as product architecture, portal for API users, product vision and geographic presence. In addition to being named a leader, Forrester gave Google Cloud (Apigee) the highest score possible in the market presence category and among the highest scores in the strategy category, in addition to citing the strength of its solution functionality.

“Google has a comprehensive view of the industry and this provides great value to customers’ API strategies,” according to the Forrester report.

Flex Inc. uses Apigee to manage the APIs that underpin its BrightInsight digital health platform, which integrates medical device data to provide real-time intelligence to its healthcare customers.  

“Apigee is a trusted partner,” said Ferry Tamtoro, CTO and vice president of digital health at Flex. “We know that Apigee can handle a large amount of transactions per second and is able to do that in a secure manner and in a reliable manner.”

Forrester noted in their report that Google is among the first vendors to directly integrate API management with a microservices framework. Earlier this year, Google announced native integration of Apigee with Istio, an open platform to connect, monitor, and secure microservices.

This report represents the latest in a history of industry recognition of Google (Apigee) as a leader in the API management space. Earlier this year Gartner named Google (Apigee) a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Full Life Cycle API Management for the third consecutive time.
