本周，微软宣布收购全球最大的开源和私有软件项目托管平台GitHub，斥资75亿美元，消息令编程界震动。据Softpedia报道，Linux基金会发布署名博客文章，执行董事Jim Zemlin对微软的收购表示振奋，称赞这是对开源世界的利好消息。
Zemlin解释，微软收购GitHub并不代表目前托管的所有软件都属于微软了，原作者的权益不仅不变，甚至未来微软还会加强。
这位执行董事极力让开发者认为纳德拉领导下的微软已经是一家全新的公司，一家拥抱开源的公司。Zemlin强调，微软开源了.net、支持Linux基金会、Apache Software基金会、Open Source Initiative等，已经是Linux/Kubernetes背后的最大推动力量之一。
当然，Zemlin不可能让所有打算或者已经闻讯关闭GitHub账号的人回心转意。
