Scores of an unreleased Samsung phone have surfaced on Geekbench and going by the model name and processor details, this could very well be the Galaxy S9. The listing on Geekbench (SM-G960F) shows a single-core score of 2680 and a multi-core score of 7787. While the scores are definitely higher than the Galaxy S8 or Note 8, they are way behind the iPhone X's scores of 4198 and 10056, proving once again that Apple is the clear leader when it comes to extracting the maximum performance out of its SoCs.

While the scores provide an estimate of the processing prowess of the Galaxy S9, things are still preliminary at this point. There will be many software and hardware optimizations as we near launch time, which can increase the scores to a certain extent. Also, raw Geekbench scores are never an indicator of the actual experience provided by a device as there are other factors such as the performance of individual components, new software features etc. that ultimately determine how the device fares in real world usage. 

The upcoming Samsung flagship will run Android Oreo out-of-the-box and will sport either the Exynos 9810 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoCs, both of which are built using a 10nm fabrication process. Going by the Geekbench listing the Exynos 9810 seems to be an octa-core chip with a base clock of 1.5 GHz. The Galaxy S9 will also feature dual-rear cameras with Samsung's ISOCELL Slim 2X7 sensor, which is a 24 MP sensor with a 0.9μm pixel size. The Galaxy S9 is anticipated to have a February 2018 release and will come in S9, S9+, and a rumored Mini variant.
