中国工程院院士入选互联网名人堂
非营利组织互联网协会宣布 10 个国家 14 位名人入驻 2017 年互联网名人堂，其中之一是中国工程院院士吴建平。互联网名人堂属于荣誉性的终生成就奖，以纪念对互联网发展做出重要贡献的个人。互联网名人堂于 2012 年成立，首批成员包括了 Vint Cerf、Tim Berners-Lee 和 Linus Torvalds。在吴建平之前，中国互联网协会会长胡启恒在 2013 年入选了互联网名人堂。吴建平发表入选感言说，“同一个世界，同一个互联网，中国不仅从互联网中获益，也将与国际互联网组织加强合作，为互联网发展作出越来越多的贡献。”
